Beginner Free Motion Quilting
Learn to stitch like a pro!!
Are you struggling with the concept of stippling and other free motion motifs? This workshop is a skill builder. Learn the fine techniques of gentle curves, even stitches and artful motifs such as heart, leaves, vines, five point stars and more. Do not leave those quilt tops unfinished – you can do this! Great for free spirited fibre artists as well.
Fee: $125 plus HST
Time: Friday, September 16 and 23, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Supply List for Beginner Free Motion Quilting
-10 – 14” x 14” quilt sandwiches, preferably plain so you can see your stitching – no polyester blends, only 100% cotton fabric and cotton batting
-100% Cotton thread for quilting
-Free motion quilting foot – available at the Oakville Sewing Centre if you do not have one already.
-Sewing machine in good working order
-Size 75 or 90 quilting sewing machine needles – ones recommended for your machine – no dollar store or Fabricland brand needles
-Marking pen – we prefer Frixion pens – available at the store
-Notebook and pen
Attention Bernina Owners – if you have a Bernina Stitch Regulator with your machine, bring it to class. You will learn how to free motion with this accessory.
